AT&T and DirectTV: Analyst Comments

Parks Associates analysts are following the AT&T and DirecTV deal closely. From our 1Q 2014 survey, we have data showing:

  • Just under 1% of broadband households have DirecTV service from AT&T though an old partnership agreement where AT&T offered bundles that included DirecTV.
  • 1% of BB HHs have DirecTV pay-TV service and both mobile phone & broadband service from AT&T.
  • 3% of BB HHs have DirecTV and broadband service from AT&T.

Consumers Wary of Service Contracts, Even in Smart Home Services

In the latest Consumer Analytics newsletter, Parks Associates revealed new information regarding adoption rates of smart home systems. Conventional wisdom holds that lowering up-front costs in favor of a long-term service contract leads to higher adoption rate. Consumers Want Smart Home Packages that Reward

Parks Associates recently published two consumer research reports that focus on the state of the home energy and home control markets. Parks Associates to Present at SXSW Connected Home Developers Garage

Parks Associates President, Stuart Sikes, will be presenting new consumer survey results on smart home systems at the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, TX. Sikes will be speaking at the Connected Home Developers Garage, taking place March 8-9.
